My mom’s flank steak is one of the best things in the whole world! It has been a favorite since we were little. We have loved this recipe when she makes it, and now that I’m a mom and a wife, we love it when I make it too. The steak is best on the grill, but is still delicious broiled in the oven.
Makes enough for 1 or 2 flank steaks. You can marinate the flank steak in a gallon zip lock bag or a 13 x 9 baking dish. I prefer the zip lock bag because it allows the marinade to be equally distributed over the steak.
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 4 tablespoons vinegar
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder or 3 cloves garlic
- 3 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 1/2 cups olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups red wine
- 2 teaspoons minced onions
- Combine all ingredients and add to meat. Allow to marinate for at least 8 hours or up to 2 days. Rotating the bag or flank steak a few times.
